In that battle whose conclusion was postponed three times, now, the fourth war commenced again. Entrusting their dearest wish of victory, the magi joined the battleground called “Fuyuki”, but amongst them, there was a man who was always alone, and could not find out the meaning behind his fights. His name was Kotomine Kirei. Not comprehending the guidance of fate, Kirei was lost, and had kept questioning. Why someone like his was given the Command Seals. However, the fate of his fights crossed Kirei’s path with a nemesis by chance. That person is – Emiya Kiritsugu. A man who was sterner than anyone else, more merciless than anyone else, and who sought the miracle of the Holy Grail.

Merely recited in fragments in Fate/Stay Night, this is the Fourth War of the Holy Grail 10 years ago. The truth which unfolded behind the battle between Shirou’s foster father, Rin’s father, and the younger Kotomine Kirei, is finally revealed…

Character

Saber (セイバー)

Voice Actor : Kawasumi Ayako

Height: 154 cm
Weight: 42 kg
Three Sizes: B73/W53/H76
Blood Type: O
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Green
Birthday: 13th May

She is Shirou’s Servant, an agile but powerful warrior. Loyal, independent, and reserved, Saber acts coldly but is actually suppressing her emotions to focus on her goals. Her class is considered the “Most Outstanding,” with excellent ratings in all categories. Since her Master cannot effectively provide her with Mana, she minimizes her activity to preserve what she has. Saber is frustrated by Shirou’s “protective” tendencies, believing his erratic and reckless behavior will jeopardize her chances of winning the Holy Grail War.

Her true identity is that of King Arthur (Uther’s daughter who hid her gender to be accepted as King). She has joined the Holy Grail War in order to grant her wish of redoing the selection of King due to her belief that she failed to keep her country from chaos. She wields the legendary holy sword Excalibur (cloaked in a veil of wind to hide its popular identity and thus its owner’s) but no longer carries its lost sheath Avalon.

Kiritsugu Emiya (衛宮切嗣)

Voice Actor : Koyama Rikiya

Shirou’s foster father, and also his savior from the aftermath of the massive Fuyuki fire. During his lifetime, Kiritsugu was disillusioned with becoming a Hero of Justice, a defender of humanity who could save everyone. Although he feels he failed to do so, his efforts were a source of inspiration for Shirou.

Prior to his fateful meeting with Shirou, Kiritsugu was notorious as the “Magus Killer”. A freelancer that would hunt down heretical magi. Although he was a magus with Magic Circuits and abilities he was considered unorthodox in that he would utilize modern technology and weaponry along with his magecraft to track down and kill magi.

Although mentioned and seen in flashbacks in Fate/stay night, Kiritsugu is one of the main protagonists in its prequel Fate/Zero.

It is hinted at in certain parts of Fate/stay night and confirmed in its prequel Fate/Zero that Kiritsugu is in fact Illyasviel von Einzbern’s biological father making her and Shirou step-siblings.

Irisviel von Einzbern (アイリスフィール・フォン・アインツベルン)

Voice Actor : Ohara Sayaka

Irisviel von Einzbern is the partner of Saber as well as the intended vessel for the Holy Grail. She is the mother of Illyasviel von Einzbern,. Like her daughter, Irisviel is a homunculus, an artificial being created by the Einzbern. She was raised to be a puppet with no desires, but found happiness in her existence when she gave birth to Illyasviel. She is married to Kiritsugu Emiya, the biological father of her daughter.
